Real Time Reaction To Premier Protein Root Beer Float

I’ve been drinking protein drinks for breakfast since my accident in January 2024. Some are delicious, some…less so. I am always looking forward to finding flavors that I can add to the rotation. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I discovered a limited edition Root Beer Float flavor of Premier Protein at Costco. As a Root Beer fan, I was immediately intrigued.

Premier Protein has some really good flavors including peanut butter chocolate, chocolate, caramel, and many others. Taste is varied and your mileage may vary but I was super impressed with this limited-time offering. One of the most important things to me when analyzing a product that advertises a specific flavor is Accurate Flavor Profile. Accurate Flavor Profile (AFP) is a way to gauge whether a product is delivering on its promise. For example, if you advertise Ketchup flavored chips, I am going to evaluate your product first on how close it comes to tasting like ketchup. Now, a product CAN have an Accurate Flavor Profile AND be bad. But typically if a company delivers a product with a high Accurate Flavor Profile it is good. While I am still working on the mathematics of scoring AFP in the Hyperbole Free labs, I’d say Premier Protein’s Root Beer float delivers a 9 on a 10 scale AFP. And in my mind…its pretty darn good.

I made sure my drink was nice and icy cold before enjoying it. And oh boy did I. The flavor of Root Beer is prominent and accurate and the vanilla overtones are perfect and not overpowering. Being a protein drink means it’s already creamy so I think this is a perfect flavor for this type of drink. I will say it was weird experiencing this flavor in the morning, but other than that this is a win. If you like or need protein drinks as part of your diet and you like the creamy taste of summer’s perfect sugary treat, I think you’re going to enjoy this.
